Competition "Europe is in your hands"
The Department for European Policies and the Ministry of Education - Directorate General for Students, Inclusion and School Orientation - announce the National Competition "Europe is in your hands!", Aimed at secondary school students, public and equal, second degree of the national territory.
The competition is promoted as part of the initiatives of the Conference on the Future for Europe which has opened a new space for discussion with citizens to address the challenges and priorities of the EU, and young Europeans play a central role in shaping the future of the Union project.
Presentation of the paper
Students are asked to create a paper that represents their vision of the EU from the point of view of those who were 'born European' and want to illustrate their ideas creatively to their peers. The paper must be inspired by one of the nine themes of the Conference:
Climate change and environment
Health
A stronger economy, social justice and employment
The EU in the world
Values and rights, rule of law, security
Digital transformation
European democracy
Migration
Education, culture, youth and sport
The paper can be - at free choice - one of the following three types:
a power point document or equivalent of a maximum of 6 pages or slides;
a video of a maximum duration of 3 minutes made with a smartphone, video camera, video editing software that will be deemed most appropriate;
a content suitable to be conveyed through social media channels (Facebook and Instagram). The content can be a photo or video post (for Facebook) or a video, a reel, a single post or a carousel (for Instagram).

In-depth materials and terms of participation
Useful in-depth material for the preparation of the thesis can be consulted on the digital platform of the European Commission and in section dedicated to the Conference on the future of Europe . Furthermore, the vision of the virtual tour of the exhibition "Italy in Europe - Europe in Italy" .
Entries must be sent by 8 March 2022 (initially the deadline was set to 15 February 2022) according to the methods indicated in the announcement of the competition , which also indicates the in-depth materials to be consulted and any further information on how to participate and the presentation of the works.
A joint commission composed of representatives of the General Directorate for Students, Inclusion and Scholastic Orientation of the Ministry of Education, the Department for European Policies and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, will evaluate the works received to identify 21 winning classes (seven for each type of work).
For the evaluation of the papers, the Examining Commission will take into account the following criteria:
Consistency of the paper with the proposed theme;
Ability to convey the message in an effective and innovative way;
Degree of creativity in the form and content proposed
Prize for the winners
The schools to which the 21 winning classes belong will be awarded a prize of 7,000 euros to be used for the purchase of teaching material and / or for the implementation of training initiatives relating to European issues.
The list of winning classes will be published on the Department for European Policies website and social media channels.
